Trustee Profiles

Amedeo Angiolini

Amedeo is a co-founder and visionary of the charity. He leads the day to day operations as the BAABT Project Worker. Amedeo has been involved in both youth and community work and education for over 40 years. He has been involved in community rehabilitation projects, as well as making a significant contribution to the development of engineering education. He is also a keen water-sports enthusiast, and is instrumental in utilising therapeutic water-sports for BAABT. Amedeo leads the education branch of the charity and takes responsibility for the vocational and academic training.

Gina Angiolini is a founding trustee of the charity. She has a keen interest in supporting military veterans after working for 10 years with the US Navy as financial support worker. She has also worked for 25 years as a teacher, and latterly as a headteacher. She now supports children with social and emotional difficulties, who have problems accessing mainstream education. Gina currently, takes the role as the charity secretary and administrator.

Blair Crawford

Blair served the YMCA in a career spanning 40 years, laterally in the post of Chief Executive in Bournemouth. He is now retired but he currently supports Hope FM as a radio presenter and has a passion for supporting community radio. Blair is one of the co-founding members of BAABT, bringing with him his extensive knowledge and experience of the charity sector. He is Chair of the Trustee committee, and takes a lead on safeguarding.

Mark Roberts has been one of the trustees since BAABT was formed in December 2014. A former British Army Officer, he later spent many years working in the Middle East and Africa and currently provides security and defence consultancy to projects around the world. He is a qualified project manager and now assists mainly with outreach, administration and governance of the charity. 

Bob Perry joined BAABT in 2018 when he moved to Bournemouth. At that time he was a SSAFA caseworker and saw the merits of BAABT as a valuable resource for troubled veterans. Bob served in the British Army for 13 years: Royal Engineers and Special Air Service, and he was then a Police Officer for 21 years. He retired as a Detective Sergeant. He then spent five years in Iraq and Afghanistan as a law enforcement Advisor/Mentor, followed by two years as a part-time hostile environment advisor before being diagnosed in 2015 with an incurable but manageable blood cancer. Bob currently leads the water-sports and mental health support facility on the Southbourne seafront – fondly known as the boatshed . He also involved in running two other veteran’s projects locally.

Bob Wright Bob Wright has been a Trustee with the charity from the beginning.   He served 22 years in the Royal Artillery, achieving the rank of Warrant Officer Class 2. His last posting was at TSM 34 Battery in Larkhill.  He moved into the security industry for 14 years, becoming an Operations Manager overseeing all holding facilities and the movement of detainees in the south of England. He also arranged Charted and Schedule deportations from the UK.  In 2012 he set up a Florist Business with his Family, which is going from strength to strength.  He currently leads the social media promotion of the charity.
